Lauren has eagerly joined in our family tradition of planting flowers at the cemetery each Memorial Day. This year, we put out a picture of Grandpa Robert taken in 1956 when he was in the Air Force. Lauren never got the chance to meet him as he passed away about thirteen years before she was born. I started talking to her about him and showing her pictures when she was two years old and she told me "he's a nice man, he's my friend." Yes, he is.
