This was too cute to not mention. Last night we went on a shopping trip and Lauren laughed her way through the whole grocery store. I don't know what came over her. She's had little giggles with her smiles but this was all out laughing (with a little squealing mixed in). It was so much fun!

The Graduate
Dr. Maples pronounced Lauren a graduate from her hip harness today. She read the hip ultrasound and said that her hips are normal now. She said, FH aside, there's a 10% chance there will be problems down the road. That's the same with any baby with hip dysplasia, therefore they follow-up with x-rays at 6 months. No more ultrasounds should be needed. She said she knew of the hip deformity that Dr. Paley told us about and that Lauren didn't have it. We talked to her about our appointment in July with Dr. Paley. As I've mentioned before, Dr. Maples knows Dr. Paley, and she actually trained with Dr. Herzenberg at U of M (Dr. Paley's partner in Baltimore). She sounded supportive of us going to see Dr. Paley and said they would be there for us locally, for braces, lifts, orthotics, therapy, etc. We like Dr. Maples a lot and couldn't ask for a better doctor to have nearby. We rescheduled our next appointment at Mary Free Bed for after our appointment with Dr. Paley. Now we just have to decide whether to donate the harness or burn it...just kidding.
