At Two and a Half Years Old
Lauren, these are things you're up to at 2 1/2 years old:
You sing the whole alphabet!
You sing many other songs now too.
You sing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" and "Rock a Bye Baby".
You sing Mommy's own song, "It's Alright, It's Okay".
You also sing Maw Maw's song, "Bye O' Bye".
You melt our hearts when we hear you sing to your dollies.
You love listening to and singing along with your Bible songs.
You can count to fourteen.
You really enjoy your puzzles and books.
You like to play "haircut", "doctor", "PT" and "Rapunzel".
You'll assign us a role and we'll try to wing it from there.
You of course let us know if we're are not pretending correctly.
You only like getting your hair brushed if we play "haircut".
You swim "all by yourself" with your floaty swimsuit on.
You get from one end of the pool to the other in no time flat.
You "jump" from the pool steps after counting to three excitedly.
You then gracefully and anticlimactically glide into the water.
You love to play outdoors.
You refer to your swing set as "Lauren's Park".
You go down slides by yourself now.
You walk to your bedroom when it's time for bed.
You walk when you get out of the tub now too.
You're way too grown up to be carried!
You're potty tally so far is: three pees and one poop.
You just completed another four weeks of dance class.
You'll be starting preschool this fall.
You say "I love you", "I missed you", and "You're the best".
You even call people "Honey" and "Darling" sometimes.
You're so sweet and concerned for other people.
You ask if we're okay if you think something might be wrong.
You kiss our owies if we get hurt, and say "is that better?".
You cooperate very well most days, and if not...
You usually come around when given options or incentive.
You're always pulling a new trick out of your hat to amaze us.
YOU are the best, Lauren! We love you so much!
