Lauren's grandparents were all planning on attending Auntie Robin's graduation, which was being held in a town about an hour away and the ceremony was expected to last a couple of hours. We were so grateful that our family friends, Rick and Marsha, agreed to keep Lauren at their house for the day. Marsha spent some time with Lauren here and there, leading up to the big day, so that Lauren could get to know her a little better. As we were packing some things for Lauren to take with her, I started to worry that Marsha and Rick still might not understand some of the basic words that Lauren might say to them. So, I jotted down a few of her common words and it went like this:
Glossary of Lauren's Terms
"Hi" = hi or yes
"No" = no
"No no no no no" = no
"Up" = Could mean up or down
"Nack" = She wants a snack
"Eat" = She wants to eat
"No no" = Guess again at what she wants to eat
"Wok?" = Will you walk with me?
"Coat" = She is just pointing out your coat
"Watch?" = She wants to watch a show
"Elmo-mo" = Elmo
"Momma & Daddy" = She is referring to her princess DVD
"Momma & Auntie" = She is referring to her princess DVD
"I Know You..." = She's singing lyrics to "Once Upon a Dream"
I'm not sure if the glossary had anything to do with it, but Lauren's day at Rick and Marsha's went wonderfully.
